The benefits of building positive relationships has been demonstrated during a visit to a merchant customer and a major project they are supplying.
Order Fulfilment Coordinator (Performance Coach) Abbey Rimmington and Rachel Watson, Order Fulfilment Manager (UK Independents and Ireland), met with Riverside Plumbing Supplies before going on to see installers MWA Ecosystems at The Blade, a 51-storey residential tower under construction in Manchester and part of the Crown Street development in the city centre.
Abbey took over the Riverside relationship earlier this year as it is a key account within her team and has a substantial growth plan we want to support.
She has built up a strong relationship with the customer and Pete Tonge in our external sales team because of her regular and open communication.
This has meant a renewed level of confidence in Ideal Standard and enabled her to set up the visit so she could bring a customer and order history to life.
The visit began at the Riverside offices in Wigan, with a tour of their depot and their new showroom, and an outline of exciting expansion plans and potential future business for Ideal Standard, which showed Pete’s hard work also paying off.
Abbey and Rachel then went to the MWA Ecosystems office in Manchester so they could meet the installers and be escorted to the site of The Blade, where they were given a tour of the development.
On the 50th floor they were shown Ideal Standard products installed in the penthouse suites and some of the other apartments.
Back at the MWA Ecosystems offices, they were given an overview of how the project is managed and the impact our order management has on the success of the site.
With fines of £150,000 per week’s delay due to loss of rents and mortgage payments, it really is vital we ship on time and rectify damages as soon as possible.
Abbey said: “It was great to meet the team at Riverside in person and to be able to understand their business after speaking to them regularly on the phone since I took over the account.
“Talking to them about their expansion plans and how we can be part of that brought to life the importance of providing excellent service from our end.
“When we went to The Blade it was really satisfying to see our products being part of this luxurious set up and really hit home just how much the order fulfilment teams contribute to a successful building site.”
Rachel said: “The aim of the day was to start bringing orders and projects to life for the team members managing the projects order timeline.
“It was great to see the warm welcome given to Abbey at Riverside, which is high praise for the way she has been managing the account, and to see the way our work contributes to the smooth running of a major development.
“Having just celebrated her two-year work anniversary with Ideal Standard, I’m proud to see the impact that Abbey is making and look forward to see her continuing to develop within the business.”
