Customer Care Advisors Alison Thompson and Jannette Kelly have raised nearly £500 for a local charity by running the Hull 10k.
The money will go to Freddie’s Friends, a charity set up in memory of Freddie Appleyard, nephew of Performance Improvement and Process Manager Ann-Marie Tennison.
Freddie was born with a rare brain disorder which meant that he had lots of problems, including Epilepsy and Hemiplegia.
After he passed away aged two in 2008, his parents Rachel and Mark set up the charity to help children with disabilities and their families to pay for equipment, therapy, a short break or a special toy.
Jannette and Alison are pictured above celebrating the completion of the 10k run, and below with Freddie’s big brother, Joe.
Jannette said: “Obviously knowing Ann-Marie, as we all do in Customer Care, we decided that this would be the perfect fit and doing the Hull 10k meant there was less pressure to be as fast as possible like some of the other races.
“This was Alison’s first 10k and she did brilliantly. Thank you to everyone who kindly sponsored us – it’s still not too late if you’d like to offer your support and help us get over the £500 mark!”
Anyone who sponsored Jannette and Alison is asked to drop their money off in the Hull sales office or with John Lynam in Armitage.
