The Non-Residential Team has secured a £2.1m specification win for the Fallowfield Student Accommodation redevelopment in Manchester, one of the largest and most complex projects the team has delivered to date.

The scheme will see 3,279 pods installed as part of a full Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard specification package, covering all sanitaryware, brassware, pre-wall, fittings, bathing and wellness, accessories, shower screens, trays and even bottle traps.
The project is being delivered in partnership with Graham Construction and Oakleaf Modular, with works due to start this month and completion scheduled for late 2027.

The Fallowfield redevelopment forms part of the wider £400m regeneration of the University of Manchester campus, which will deliver around 3,300 new student beds across a phased programme through to 2030.

The project presented significant challenges throughout, with multiple design and specification changes along the way, including the unexpected acquisition of the pod manufacturer at a critical stage. Despite this, the team maintained momentum through constant coordination and rapid response to evolving requirements.

Channel Director Tim Chappell played a key role in driving the project forward, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, supported by colleagues in estimating who were instrumental in keeping pace with daily and sometimes hourly specification changes.

Regional Sales Manager Sal Moss highlighted the scale of the achievement and the effort behind it. She said: “This was a hugely complex project that changed direction several times, right up to the last minute.
“The commitment from Tim and the wider team, alongside the responsiveness of our estimating colleagues, was exceptional.
“Without that level of support and flexibility, we simply wouldn’t have secured it.”
