Project Co-ordinator Olivia Rusch is preparing to jet off on a fundraising trek to Machu Picchu in Peru.
The 19-year-old will be the youngest in a party of 25 who will be hiking for four days to reach the legendary ruins, which sit nearly 8,000ft above sea level.
In all, the trip will last 10 days, with all members of the organised group raising money for the Pink Ribbon Foundation, a breast cancer charity.

She said: “It’s very exciting, very scary. I’m not great with heights but it’s going to be a big adventure with a group of people I’ve never met; something new and different.
“We do the trek during the day, get to the camping area and everything is already set up. There are cooks are porters doing the food and helping out.
“The group is a real mixture of ages, with people in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s from all over England.”

Olivia got involved after attending a meeting with her parents, who own a travel franchise, and a representative from the Pink Ribbon Foundation where she heard about the trip.
“I just thought ‘Why not?’” she said. “I grew up in Lithuania and the US, and I’ve travelled a bit but I’ve never done anything like this before.
“It’s a new experience which gives me the chance to see if I can do it.”

She added: “Everyone knows someone who has gone through cancer and I have family and friends who have gone through it so I thought it would be a good cause to raise money for.”
