Colleagues from the residential and high rise teams are helping each other adapt to their new roles after structural changes earlier this year.
Responsibility for high rise recently moved from non-residential into residential and has been shared among residential sales colleagues, as opposed to being a specialist role with a large geographical patch.
Since, then colleagues have been sharing the tips and tricks of their area to help others learn about their new area.

Key Account Managers Pete Tonge, who looked after high rise, and Emma Gore, from the residential team, used to work on different teams and very rarely worked together, even though they had similar geographical areas.
They now both look after high rise and residential for the north of England with the same customer segmentation but different areas.
The way they have worked together to teach and learn from each other has been held up by Channel Director Jo Edwards as a great example of teamwork.

Emma said: “With Pete’s background in high rise and mine in residential, we have now come together with a hybrid approach to both.
“We have been fully supportive of each other in our new roles, including numerous joint meetings to ensure a smooth transition and helping each other with the detail of specifications.”

She added: “We spent the first six months building the foundations of the roles, getting clients and projects up to date on Salesforce, building pipeline and using Glenigan reporting to identify leads.
“One thing I learnt from Pete was a bit less high-tech. Tower spotting is simply driving around cities, looking for high rise projects, taking photos of information boards for relevant contacts and updating Salesforce where relevant.”

Emma and Pete gave a presentation on their joint working to a team meeting at our London Design and Specification Centre.
Channel Director Jo Edwards said: “Watching and listening to the teamwork around the table and in the regions was fascinating.
“It was great to hear from Emma and Pete, who have a fantastic working relationship, about how they have learnt each other’s area of expertise.
“We all learn new things every day. The main thing I took away was that if the windows are in on a high rise project, we’re too late!”
