Sometimes the best way to build relationships is to step away from drawings and deadlines. In this report, Becky Greenin, who also took on quizmaster duties for the night, shares her behind-the-scenes view of the return of the Villeroy & Boch Quiz Night, an evening that brought architects, designers and the Global Projects team together for a little healthy competition.

The quiz is back… and it brought the drama, the decibels and the bronze toilet trophy with it!

After the roaring success of last February’s showdown, the Villeroy & Boch Quiz Night made its triumphant return, because when architects and designers get competitive over pizza and prosecco, you simply have to do it again.

Five fearless practices stepped up to the challenge, each teaming up with a member of the Global Projects crew from Villeroy & Boch Group.
Defending champions Studio Moren returned again with Ash Burtoft, our Global Key Account Manager – Hotels, ready to protect their crown. But the competition was fierce.

Taking them on were:

  • Grimshaw Architects with Jason Cadman, A&D Channel Director
  • Chapman Taylor with Anna Romanova, Key Account Global Projects
  • 3 Stories Design with Joe Munday, Residential Regional Sales Manager
  • 1508 London with Phil Jones, A&D Specification Manager

And when 1508 London found themselves a few players short, reinforcements were swiftly drafted as Matt Bell from the retail team and Jo Legard from RO Arnolds distributors were in the LDSC that day, because no quiz team gets left behind!

Commanding the room once again was quizmaster extraordinaire Becky Greenin, guiding teams through 10 rounds of brain-teasing brilliance.
From 2025 General Knowledge and Pop Culture to Geography (yes, Guess the Flags made its much-loved return), plus Bathrooms, Architecture and Design and, of course, the grand finale: the Music Round.

Learning from last year’s enthusiastic volume levels, we upgraded to a microphone and speaker setup. A wise move.

This year’s scoreboard was nail-biting stuff, just four points separated first from last. FOUR! That’s the kind of margin that fuels rivalries for months.

And the 2026 champions? 3 Stories Design!

They walked away with bottles of wine, boxes of chocolates, and the ultimate prize: the coveted bronze toilet trophy, soon to take pride of place in their studio. Celebrations included an impromptu photoshoot in the La Dolce Vita bay in the LDSC (and yes, the photo is iconic).

Meanwhile, Studio Moren have publicly vowed to reclaim their title next time. The rematch energy is already building…

For the Global Projects team, this night is about more than trivia triumphs. It’s about creating value that matters, strengthening relationships, educating about the brands and time to have relaxed collaborative conversations that then lead to opportunities to work together on project specification and build our project pipeline. It’s also about sharing laughs and bringing together brilliant practices in a setting that’s fun and friendly, and helps position the LDSC as an integral part of London’s A&D community.
