A taking share win for an RAF base is leading to follow-on projects worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
RAF Digby in Lincolnshire is an operational barracks being refurbished by Hull-based pod manufacturer ESS Modular, who put out an open specification for projects that were previously supplied by Vitra.

Specification Manager Natalie Buckingham proposed the i.life A semi-countertop basin and back-to-wall pan, as well as Callista basin mixer taps.
The specification was approved and is now being installed in 278 apartments across four blocks in a 12-month project which is underway and is expected to be completed early next year.

As well as winning the RAF Digby project, which is worth £131,000 to our business, the combination of i.life and Callista is now the preferred specification for ESS Modular supplying into their Ministry of Defence work via Wolseley.
These products will also be going into RAF Wattisham in Suffolk and RAF Weeton, with the relationship already worth over £600,000.

Natalie said: “It’s always great to win a taking share project but the RAF Digby specification is already leading to further business for Ideal Standard.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how we can broaden our relationship with ESS Modular as they also specialise in education and prisons.”
