Seven charities have benefitted from donations thanks to dress down Fridays at Armitage led by the Business Support Team.
A sum of £250 each has been sent to the National Autistic Society, Birmingham Women and Children’s Hospital Charity, the Greyhound Trust, Dogs Trust, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, Cats Protection and Rainbow Trust.
£1,750 was released at year end from funds collected by the group who donate every Friday when they dress more casually for work and sometimes come in fancy dress.
Beneficiaries are chosen following nominations by people who take part in dress down Fridays and funds are released en masse to charities logged during the year or in some cases specific causes affecting our staff members as ad-hoc initiatives.
Demand Creation Process Manager Alison Tilsley said: “This is a wonderful gesture for seven worthy causes that are close to our hearts and I’d like to say well done to everyone who contributes.
“Over the years we have given thousands of pounds to many charities from 50 pence donations each week which builds into something which really makes a difference.”
Anyone who donates to dress down Fridays and would like to nominate a charity should contact Kay Barlow or Charlie Pilmore.
