The first Wolseley trade conference in a number of years provided an excellent platform to promote key new product introductions from Ideal Standard and Armitage Shanks.
The event, held at Leeds Armouries, gave staff from the company’s northern region the opportunity to meet with a select group of manufacturing supply partners.
Our stand was in the new corporate brand livery, focused on the new Sphero urinal range, which aims to make an impact in washrooms specification and RMI (repair, maintenance, improvement) markets, and the Ultra Flat S shower tray, which comes in four finishes with coordinating wastes colours.
Wolseley had given each of their delegates a “dance card” creating up to 1,600 meet-ups between Wolseley and their supply partners during the event.
The company had matched its delegates up with the right manufacturers to ensure both sides spoke to people relevant to them.
And, in an extension to the positive partnership working we have developed with Wolseley, the company invited our colleagues to the hour-long opening address by Chief Commercial Officer David Haydon.
Jo Edwards, Channel Director, Trade said: “They ensured the right colleagues went to spend time the manufacturers where they had key initiatives and that worked really well for us.
“We were busy from the moment it opened, talking about our core initiatives. We were also invited the talk by David Haydon, which was really useful to understand where they are heading as a business and what their priorities are.
“It was a very successful event. We talked to all the people we needed to talk to in the organisation and had some really positive conversations.”
The event was followed by a dinner and their staff Oscars, known as the “Wolseleys”. Similar conference events for the central and southern regions are anticipated to come.
