Two marketing colleagues have been named in a prestigious list of young high flyers from the Humber region.
Melissa Hancocks and Ash Smith have made it into the Hull and Humber Top 30 Under 30 within days of taking up new, more senior roles at Ideal Standard.
Melissa joined the business in 2018 as a Marketing Services Executive and quickly got stuck into whatever has been thrown at her.
This includes photography and video shoots, set up of exhibitions, hosting events at our London Design and Specification Centre, creating computer generated imagery, re-branding offices, proofreading copy and sourcing hundreds of images for customers.
Melissa has recently been promoted to Marketing Communications Manager and is part-way through having her own house built.
She said: “I’d actually forgotten I’d been entered when I received the phone call from Simon at Top 30 Under 30, so I think I probably sounded confused and surprised at the same time.
“It’s finally sunk in and I’m excited to find out more about the LEAP programme that starts later this year. “
Ash joined Ideal Standard in 2014 aged 18 when he was offered a three-month internship and made such an impact with his enthusiasm, positive attitude and ability to learn quickly that he was taken on permanently.
In January 2020, as a result of his drive and continuous striving for growth and development, Ash was promoted to Product Manager (UK) Residential Brassware. Reporting directly to the Head of Product and Marketing, he now manages the UK Residential Brassware Portfolio.
With his increased responsibility he now leads the growth and profitability strategy for a core category within the business.
Ash said: “I was grateful to be nominated, never mind selected as part of the Hull and Humber Top 30 Under 30.
“I am really looking forward to meeting the other young people in my area who have also been selected.”
Ash and Melissa will be filmed as part of the Top 30 listing and their respective videos will appear on the Top 30 Under 30 website.
