Hopes are high for growth with MKM Building Supplies following a positive showcase event at the KCOM Stadium in Hull.
This event was attended by specialists and branch directors from MKM branches which have a plumbing and heating department to help them better understand their key suppliers’ new products.
It was an opportunity to showcase the new exclusive suites we have launched to merchants in the PHG buying group in a focused but informal environment.
In total 26 meetings were held across the day with people from more than 40 branches.
Key Account Manager Dave Larreta said: “This gave us great exposure to their plumbing and heating teams and branch directors, with the opportunity to showcase products to them.
“As a business, we have had a challenging relationship with MKM over the years, as the branch directors have a large say in what products they supply to their customers.”
He added: “This event was a significant move forward, with a fantastic level of engagement from all who attended the meetings with us, and some significant interest in displaying and selling the new ranges in their branches.
“MKM currently have the largest plumbing and heating spend in the PHG group (£89M) and I now feel we have a platform for growth with them in 2019 and beyond.”
Follow up meetings will now happen in the field, with the field sales team setting up appointments at branches across the country.
