The Trade Team are tackling an ambitious challenge to run, walk and bike the equivalent of the 1,407km road distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End by Christmas.
Their Winter Movement Challenge is an effort to keep the 12-strong team – Jo Edwards, Jamie Maguire, Tom Ball, Alex Hooley, Mike Klodzinski, Nikesh Modi, Curtis Morris, Michael Burroughs, Mustafa Rahman, Holly Simmons and Sarah Szydlowski – connected and active as winter draws in.
If they are successful, this works out at an average of 20km per week per person over five weeks.
They started on November 14 and plan to finish by Christmas, and have so far completed 650km, the equivalent of getting to Hadrian’s Wall.
Business Development Executive Liam Pryszlak, who is collating the distance each member runs, said: “For me it’s just about ensuring everyone’s mental wellbeing and connecting with the team whilst we can’t meet face to face. There’s nothing better than being active for making you feel great!
“The idea is to get everyone moving and not just sat at a desk all day while having a bit of fun. The idea is to complete the km or so together if we can or virtually together.”
