Our Ideal Standard and Armitage Shanks brands are both celebrating prestigious award wins this week.
Armitage Shanks has been recognised for its contribution to NHS efficiency in building projects and Ideal Standard picked up a leading bathroom design award for the Ipalyss coloured basin.
At a ceremony at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London, Marketing Director Katie Cope and designer Robin Levien picked up the Designer Kitchen and Bathroom Awards Product Innovation Bathroom Gold Award for the Ipalyss basin.
The judges remarked on the range’s “strong design message” and “high level of innovation”.
Katie and Robin are pictured above with awards presenter and former England Rugby Union player Martin Bayfield.
The launch of Ipalyss earlier this year heralded the dawn of a new era in design for the company and came as Roberto Palomba took up the position as Chief Design Officer for Ideal Standard International.
Its creation was a collaboration between Roberto and long-standing Ideal Standard UK designer Robin Levien.
Robin designed the basin’s subtle curves, using the patented ultrathin ceramic material Diamatec, while Roberto developed the stylish colour palette for the range, which comes in shades including pomegranate, mink and sage.
On collecting the award, Katie said: “This is an excellent recognition of our direction as a business and of the creativity of Roberto and Robin, who have developed a truly stunning range in Ipalyss.
“We are only at the beginning of our mission to regain bathroom design leadership and to receive a leading industry award this early in our journey is a fantastic endorsement indeed.”
On Tuesday, Key Account Manager Liam Ansell (above) collected the ProCure22 Efficiency and Productivity Programme Capital and Cost Savings Award at the Healthcare Estates event.
ProCure22 is the NHS procurement framework and companies have to meet strict criteria to be appointed as a supply chain partner.
Liam said: “This is a great achievement for the company and comes after many years of working with the NHS, Procure 21+ and subsequently ProCure22.
“This is the result of a team effort by colleagues in specification, key accounts, business support and more, who have all contributed through their role to ensure we maximise opportunities with the NHS.”
He added: “The award reflects the continuous innovation of our products in the fight against hospital infections and the long term capital cost savings our products make.
“It recognises that it’s better value to buy our products because they’re very high quality and more durable in demanding usage areas.
“It’s mutually beneficial for ourselves and the NHS.”
