The programme of COVID-19 testing will come to a close in the next two weeks, after hundreds of tests since it began.
Since the beginning of September, employees at Armitage and Hull have been encouraged to take part in PCR (polymerise chain reaction) testing to identify colleagues who have the virus, whether they have symptoms or not.
The aim of introducing the testing regime was to add an additional layer of protection for us to identify asymptomatic personnel and prevent the spread of the virus to others.
Human Resources Director Mike Kelly said: “Thank you to everyone who has supported the testing process, particularly Georgina Salt, Dawn Cripps and Joy Edwards who set up and coordinated all the appointments. It has been very helpful to have the level of assurance that this has provided.
“We introduced testing because we felt that as a responsible employer it is better for people to know if they have COVID-19 so then we could put measures in place to reduce the risk of further infection.
“Please remember that testing today does not mean you won’t get it after you have been tested, so you still need to follow all guidelines to reduce risk and keep safe.”
