Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard have secured the specification for the new Woodhouse Hotel, a landmark hospitality development that showcases the strength of the combined portfolio and the value of cross-functional collaboration.

The new-build hotel will feature 52 guest rooms, many with panoramic countryside views, alongside what is expected to become the UK’s largest banqueting hall. Replacing the original Woodhouse Hotel, the development will also include an open terrace and premium guest facilities.

The project is being delivered in partnership with developer Bradgate Homes and merchant J A Clarke. Villeroy & Boch products have been specified throughout the guest rooms and front-of-house areas, while Ideal Standard products will be installed in back-of-house spaces.

Guest rooms will feature a premium Villeroy & Boch specification including O.novo WCs, Skyla basins, O.novo basin mixers, Oberon Quaryl baths, ultra-flat shower trays and Villeroy & Boch showering products. Front-of-house areas will include Bronze Skyla taps, Loop & Friends basins and O.novo WCs.

The team first became involved in the project in 2021, when the development was originally specified with Ideal Standard products. After the project was paused for several years, work resumed last year and the specification came under threat from a competing proposal.

Working closely with Dave Theodore at J A Clarke, the team re-engaged the developer and contractors to demonstrate the strength of the combined Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard portfolio. More than 50 revisions were made to the quotation, alongside numerous product sample requests, to ensure the specification continued to meet the client’s evolving requirements.

Tayla Dolman, Sales Manager Hotels & Hospitality, said: “The successful outcome was made possible by collaboration across several teams. Beth, Brad and Michelle managed the extensive quotation revisions, while Charlie Williams produced high-quality design visuals that helped bring the specification to life and strengthen the overall proposal.
“Winning the project is a testament to the team’s persistence, customer focus and collaborative approach. As a flagship hospitality development, the Woodhouse Hotel represents an important reference project and demonstrates how the combined strengths of Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard can secure major commercial opportunities.”
