A major new investment at our fittings plant in Sevlievo, Bulgaria, will increase our capacity to create state-of-the-art finishes on taps and showers.
The seven-figure development will hugely enhance our cutting edge capabilities in delivering Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) finishes in-house, strengthening our taps and showering business and building on the combined expertise of Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard.
The new production line, which has now been officially opened, will also allow us to expand our design offering and deliver even greater quality and consistency across our bathroom collections.
The move not only enhances our product portfolio, but also improves availability, flexibility and speed to market – all while aligning with our broader sustainability ambitions.
“Following the acquisition of Ideal Standard, accelerating growth in the taps and showering segment has become a key priority for the Villeroy & Boch Group,” said Georg Lörz, Chief Operations Officer Bathroom & Wellness, at the opening of the new PVD production line.
“The Bulgarian plant plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing network, driving innovation, ensuring quality and enabling scale.
“This investment reinforces our premium market position, strengthens our operational independence, and enables us to better respond to evolving global demands.”
Emil Gatev, Fittings Plant Manager, added, “We are proud to be leading Villeroy & Boch’s innovation journey with the introduction of this high-tech process.
“This investment recognises the strategic importance of the Bulgarian plant within the Group’s global production network and turns it into our global competence and production hub for PVD technology and brass.”
The new PVD line gives us the ability to offer a wider range of finishes – including brushed gold, copper, bronze and satin tones like silver grey and anthracite – creating greater design cohesion across taps, showers and accessories.
These finishes are already featured in collections including La Dolce Vita, Connect Air, Conca, IdealRain Solos, IdealSpray, and Joy, helping us stay in tune with global design trends.
Alongside its aesthetic benefits, PVD brings practical advantages like durability, scratch-resistance and corrosion-resistance. The technology is also more sustainable, operating with zero emissions and producing no waste.
