Colleagues are being encouraged to try out their local Park Run after an Ideal Standard clean sweep of the podium places in the latest Hull event.
Sharon Brown, Katy Thorpe and Rachel Whittaker came first, second and third respectively in their age group over the course around the city’s Peter Pan Park.
With our ever-increasing focus on employee wellbeing, colleagues are being urged to consider giving Park Run a go themselves.

Sharon, Katy and Rachel are among many Ideal Standard employees who take part in Park Runs across the country. These are free, community-based events in which adults run 5km and children 2km. Park Run has gone global since its beginnings in London in 2004.

Order Fulfilment Manager Sharon said: “I did my first Park Run at Peter Pan Park in 2015 after I started the couch to 5K from the NHS app.
“It can be very daunting to take that first jog amongst a large group of people. However, I couldn’t have been more reassured from my first visit that it was a great community activity and supportive environment.
“It is such an inclusive event, whether you walk, jog, sprint, push a pram, run with your dog, spectate or volunteer.
“I’m happy to walk, jog or run with anyone for their first time at their pace, as long as they’re not Mo Farah!”

Finance Director Rachel said: “I’d been running for a while before first going to my local Park Run at Peter Pan Park. It seemed a lot of effort to get up for 9am on a Saturday morning to run 5km but now I’m hooked.
“The atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming, and whether you run, jog, walk or volunteer you’ll love it and soon be returning over and over again.
“ I’ve done over 100 now, but lots of people celebrate milestones running into hundreds more!”
