Operations Modeller Andy Cororan is climbing the tallest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in a charity fundraiser in memory of a close friend.
On July 29 and 30, he and a group of friends are taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge, hiking up Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon within 24 hours.
In 2019, shortly after the photo above was taken near Grasmere, North Yorkshire, Andy’s friend Stu suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.
Despite giving him CPR for 45 minutes until a helicopter could reach him and the medics continuing for a further 20 minutes, tragically he couldn’t be saved.

Andy said: “I’m doing the National Three Peaks Challenge in memory of my great friend Stu who was tragically taken from us way too soon.
“I’m raising money for the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team who did a sterling job on that fateful day.
“They are funded entirely by public donations, so you can be confident that any money donated will directly contribute towards saving lives and assisting people in danger.”

Andy’s fundraising has been supported by a donation from the Armitage Thanks fund. To sponsor him, please go to his JustGiving page.
