Ideal Standard attended the 2021 Installer Show as part of the UKPS “Gastonbury” festival-themed stand at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Our stand primarily promoted the ProSys in-wall system and the Sensorflow E touch-free taps, with a game and a £1,000 prize fund to attract plumbers.
The challenge was to replace a standard tap with a Sensorflow E tap as quickly as possible, with the aim of demonstrating how quick and easy swapping them can be.
The winner of the first prize of £500 of Love2Shop vouchers was Thomas Gay who completed it in just in 1 minute and 18 seconds.
Key Account Manager Dean Annetts said: “In less than two minutes some of them had isolated the water, removed the hot and cold, removed the tap, slotted in the new one, reconnected it and made sure it was working!
“It showed there’s nothing to be scared of and how easy it is to be COVID secure with a sensor tap.
“I think the penny dropped. Once they realised just how easy it was and also the quality of the tap I think it all clicked into place.”
He added: “ProSys went down well. A lot of installers didn’t know we did our own in-wall system and they were keen to see that, especially given issues they are having with some manufacturers at the moment.
“They didn’t think of Armitage Shanks beyond a Sandringham toilet and there was a lot of positivity when they saw our new products.”
