A hugely successful Clerkenwell Design Week saw more than 900 visitors heading to our London Design and Specification Centre (LDSC). Architects from many leading practices came to see us, including seven of the Architects’ Journal 100 Top 10 UK practices, with a large increase in the number attending our evening event too.
Clerkenwell Design Week is an annual three-day design festival that offers some of the best opportunities to network with key targets including architects and interior designers.
Largely themed around our new La Dolce Vita collection, which also featured in an attention-grabbing window display to draw visitors into the LDSC, our events invited people to enjoy gelato, Aperol Spritz cocktails and the allure of the Italian lifestyle, all while talking design and viewing our displays.
The week was full of victories that could become big wins in the future:
- One team from a major practice popped in to avoid the rain, were given a showroom tour and ended up bringing 20 colleagues to the Thursday evening event.
- Another practice came into the LDSC for the first time, having never used our products, and is now specifying Ideal Standard on a student accommodation project.
- The design director for a major hotels group toured the showroom for over an hour and was so impressed he asked for a full specification for front and back-of-house.
- Our new La Dolce Vita collection, our biggest launch of 2024, was described as “stunning” by a number of people
Head of Specification Jason Cadman said: “Teamwork was the main success of the event. We all worked together with support from all areas of the business. It was amazing to see and be a part of.
He added: “Our home was loved by everyone who came into the space and has done so much to alter the A&D community’s perception of our brand, which I could see happening as I showed people round.
“The festival also gave us an opportunity to work with our new Villeroy & Boch colleagues, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience with us. We plan to use our integration as brands to plan an even more successful Clerkenwell Design Week in 2025.”
Immediately following the week, several people have made appointments to visit the LDSC and tour the showroom, as well as making requests for information about our products from visitors who were inspired by our displays.
LDSC Host Silvia Antunano said: “My main highlight is the excellent support and teamwork we have received from across the company from the beginning of the marathon that is organising our Clerkenwell Design Week schedule.
“Every department made a huge effort to help us create something truly special, often against very challenging deadlines.
“This has been a worldwide effort that has made a very successful CDW2024 to remember and to look higher for the next edition.”
