Colleagues are being invited to support the work of local good causes by bringing in donations as part of Ideal Standard’s Operation Christmas 2023.
Items will be taken to our chosen charities Smile Foundation in Hull and Rugeley Foodbank to help people who are in need over the festive period.
Donations are requested by December 15 as follows:
- Hull: Selection boxes, toiletries, non-perishable food and toys
- Armitage: Canned potatoes, canned puddings, instant mash, canned or jarred meat products, children’s treats and toilet rolls
Donations can be left in the marketing and finance offices in Hull and outside the HR office and inside the plant and DC canteens in Armitage.
On December 14, colleagues are invited to come to work in their best Christmas outfits for a day of festive fun, which includes a Christmas bake-off.
HR and Data Administrator Lydia Burgess said: “We’re looking to spread a little festive spirit on December 14. You could come to work in anything from a festive jumper to your favourite elf outfit!
“We also plan to hold a Christmas bake off on this day so would welcome you to find your inner Mary Berry and bring your favourite baked treats to work for everyone to enjoy.”
The Hull bake-off will be in meeting room two between noon and 2pm, and bakes can be dropped off there throughout the morning. In Armitage, it will be open in the red room between 10am and 3.30pm and all bakes can be dropped there throughout the morning.
Employees will be able to buy the treats for a small fee and the proceeds will be donated to Smile Foundation and another of our chosen charities, St Giles Hospice.
