A team of 20 colleagues are undergoing training to enable them to help and support people who are struggling with their mental health. There has been a fantastic response since the opportunity to become involved was promoted by our human resources team, and the training sessions are currently in progress.
HR and Data Administrator Lydia Burgess, who is leading on the project, said: “We’ve had an amazing uptake for this opportunity to form the first ever team of Mental Health Angels.
“This is going to be a team of twenty people who have taken the opportunity to further their knowledge of mental health, treatment and making people aware of support available.”
The team of 20 are undergoing training which helps people struggling with their mental health feel supported and provides them with the help they need. The aim is to give everyone access to someone they can talk to in confidence and begin to break the stigma attached to mental health.
Lydia added: “Everyone’s interest and support for this initiative has been overwhelming and is greatly appreciated. We will be launching the team by the end of February so keep your eyes peeled for further information on this.
“Please reach out if you are ever struggling; there is always someone to listen. It is okay not to be okay, but it is not okay not to talk!”
