A raft of new project wins and previous wins starting on site is making for a busy period for the Non-Residential Team in Scotland.
In Glasgow, Specification Manager Darron Brown has secured the specification for Bothwell Exchange phase two (above), a new office building project, working with FES Group.
This project was originally a Geberit and Twyfords specification with the aim of achieving a BREEAM rating of five. The contractor was having issues achieving this rating and asked us to offer alternative options.

Darron said: “The client preferred the look of our Tesi wall hung pan and we also offered a selection of electronic flushing systems through our new ProSys system.
“Ultimately, the flushing system went to another manufacturer but this was still a good win against a competitor spec and we are supplying 240 Tesi pans into the project.
“Another benefit that has come from this is that FES has now submitted my original ProSys electronic flushing system proposals to another client with a similar sized project in Glasgow, and we await the outcome of that.”

western-general-hospital Several projects are under way at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh (above) with a total value of about £180,000.
The major elements of this are the refurbishment and extension of the haematology and oncology areas of the hospital, working with Robertson Construction and FES.
This includes the supply of more than 50 Contour 21+ basins and Markwik 21+ taps, as well as toilets and showers.
The specification for the refurbishment element of the project was developed by Specification Manager Grant Massie with Oberlander Architects.

Two further health projects which Grant and Oberlander have worked on together are also currently on site.
These are hospitals in Portree on the Isle of Skye and Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands, with project values of £120,000 and £105,000 respectively.

Another of Grant’s projects is Madras College, a new school in St Andrews, near Dundee, which is finally under way after planning issues forced lead developer BAM Construction to find a new site. We have been tracking the project since 2014 and finally won it in 2019, with the order now placed.
Worth £94,000 to the business, the specification includes Contour toilets and back-to-wall pans, Doc M packs, Avon showers, SensorFlow taps and Broadway troughs.
