Colleagues in Hull are being thanked for donating sweets to patients in Queen’s Centre for Oncology and Haematology at nearby Castle Hill Hospital.
Order Fulfilment Co-ordinator Caroline Lee and Senior Sales Executive Sharon Brown asked team members for donations of sweets in place of Christmas presents on behalf of Caroline’s mum, Janet Moore, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Janet had told her of the horrible taste patients get in their mouths when they are having treatment and that sweets can help take it away.
Caroline said: “My mum would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed so we could make this donation to the patients.
“People who are having chemotherapy get a really nasty taste in their mouth and sweets just help make life a little easier by taking the taste away.”
The sweets were dropped off earlier this week by Janet, along with Caroline’s son-in-law Reece (below). Her Facebook post is below that.
