Our London Design and Specification Centre has been crowned winner of the Clerkenwell Design Week 2024 showroom window display competition.
To celebrate the launch of our new La Dolce Vita range, the display brought a taste of the relaxed Italian lifestyle in contrast to London’s dull weather at the time.
The launch of La Dolce Vita was perfectly timed to promote the collection during Clerkenwell Design Week, with the annual window contest creating friendly competition between the various brands with a showroom in the area.
The display was conceived by our Senior Designer Yiota Toumba, who began maternity leave before it could be started, with LDSC Host Silvia Antunano stepping in to see it through.
Yiota said: “Our La Dolce Vita range perfectly encapsulates the Italian good life, which was a great source of inspiration and got me thinking about how I could bring Italian landscapes and architecture into the window in 3D form to help transport our visitors to Italy.
“Silvia and the team did a brilliant job of making the design happen and it’s wonderful to see our efforts winning recognition from the Clerkenwell Design Week organisers too.”
Marketing Director Leanne Martin said: “Our team at the LDSC really pulled together to create an attention-grabbing display with Yiota being on maternity and Silvia stepping in to manage the installation and propping to really bring the vision to life.
“This ensured the final display was faithful to Yiota’s vision and has not only caught the eye of customers and passers-by but the Clerkenwell Design Week judges too.
“This win is more than the recognition of some excellent work by our team; it really does get our name out there as being recognised by well-respected judges using Clerkwell Design Week’s web and social media channels.”
Silvia added:“Our magnificent window this year did a great job of showcasing our showroom at its best. We knew it was stunning and definitely stood out from the crowd because of its creativity and appeal, and we are proud to be the winners this year.”
The organisers of Clerkenwell Design Week said: “To coincide with the launch of their new range La Dolce Vita, Ideal Standard brought the Italian lifestyle of the Amalfi coast to their Clerkenwell Road showroom, featuring an iconic Italian vespa, Amalfi lemons and blinds that showcased the famous shorelines, sheer cliffs and breath-taking scenery.
“With a wet and grey start to this year’s CDW, we thoroughly enjoyed the introduction of some Italian sun that Ideal Standard brought to EC1 and are this year’s winner of the CDW24 showroom window display competition.”
