Summer placement colleagues are enjoying gaining experience working for Ideal Standard after settling in well to their teams.
This year we have four people on placement over the summer, in the order fulfilment and DIY sales teams.
The aim is to give young people experience of working in a corporate environment, along with a competitive wage and the opportunity to make a good impression in anticipation of potential future openings with the business.
Our four placement colleagues this year are DIY/E-Commerce Data Analysist Noah Sibary and Order Fulfilment Co-ordinators Katie Hughes, Joe Martlew and Charlie Lines.
Charlie (pictured above) said: “After graduating from university, starting my summer internship at Ideal Standard has been the perfect transition into full-time work.
“With the support of my colleagues and mentors, I am confident in my ability to develop the skills necessary to excel in this role.”
Katie (above) said she has already learnt a lot of valuable things about how a business runs, such as the importance of supply chains.
She said: “I have also found that everyone is friendly and wanting you to succeed. I am grateful for this opportunity as it has allowed me to gain experience in the type of job that I want for my future.”
Joe (above) told us: “I have loved every minute of this experience and have learnt so much from all of the wise and wonderful people around me.”
Noah (above) said: Over the last six weeks I have supported several members of the sales DIY team with different parts to the job role.
“I have enjoyed coming in to work and getting to know each member of the team as now it feels like I’ve been with the team for years, not weeks.
“Most importantly I have learnt lots about the working world and from my six-week experience so far, I feel very excited in hopes for a career with Ideal Standard at some point in my future.”
