The final total of funds raised by the Armitage Thanks charity campaign has topped £250,000 – and there is a pot left for colleagues’ own fundraising activity.
The amount generated by the three-year initiative reached £251,957 at its completion, with major contributors including £38,540 from the sale of 2,017 mini loos and £41,050 from the Amy Johnson moths for which we created the mould and which were auctioned off to Hull area businesses.
Major beneficiaries of Armitage Thanks – which was organised to celebrate the bicentenary of Armitage Shanks in 2017 – included the Bowel & Cancer Research charity and the Hull and East Riding charity the Smile Foundation. See below for some key figures.
Now that Armitage Thanks has drawn to a close, some £9,429 is left to support good causes that colleagues are raising funds for.
For example, they could be running a marathon, climbing a mountain or carrying out community work in a third world country.
The donation would be required to be added to a sum already raised or to help reach a fundraising total required to allow participation in an expedition or project.
PR and Communications Manager Jenny Wilson Smith said: “The intention is to use this final sum of money to carry on the good work of the Armitage Thanks Project.
“Colleagues across the business regularly take part in their own fundraising activities and we would like to continue to support them in the spirit of Armitage Thanks.”
Anyone who would like to apply for a donation should email Jenny at jwilsonsmith@idealstandard.com. Criteria apply.
