The latest episode of the Together World Tour has taken viewers on a design-led tour of the German capital, Berlin.
Viewers from architecture, design, media and more watched Ideal Standard Joint CEO Jan Peter Tewes explore the city, accompanied by design expert Joern Frederic Kengelbach.
In the 30-minute film, they talked to contributors including Prof. Dr. Harmut Dorgeloh, the Humboldt Forum General Director, and Sir David Chipperfield, architect behind the restoration of the city’s Neues Museum.
The pair visited landmarks including the Kolonnadenhof, the James Simon Gallery and Neues Museum, the Berlin Cube and the Brandenburg Gate, as well as the building to which Ideal Standard can trace its roots in Germany, going back 120 years.
The film also looked at projects in Berlin in which Ideal Standard projects were specified, including the Zalando SE headquarters, Voltair in Alexander Platz and The Sapphire by Daniel Libeskind.
One of the key moments in the film was the launch of the Extra range of basins and the exploration of links between its design and the influential Bauhaus art and design movement, whose style favoured simple geometric shapes.
Finally, the film looked forward to the next instalment of the Together World Tour, in London in September. Register for this here.
