Improvements to the security lodges and CCTV at Armitage are well underway to improve the appearance of the site to colleagues and visitors.
A £70,000 investment has seen the 1960s and 1980s security lodges restored and updated in line with the IDS standards program.
Internal and external works over have been taking place over six weeks to promote the impression of the site to visitors, customers and the local community.
New access gates and barriers are now being added to secure the site for the benefit of staff, visitors, product and equipment, coupled with a further investment in 43 new high definition camera security system.
These are the first investments in improving our security’s ability to manage site functions in a centrally control environment, covering visitor arrivals, the fire alert and factory alarm systems, and full site monitoring.
UK and Ireland Logistics Manager Steve Telford said: “The security lodges are the first impression many people get of our business so it’s great that we have been able to secure investment to improve them externally but also internally for the benefit of staff.”
