An event focussing on offsite building has led to excellent engagement and ongoing conversations with architects, developers and people who work in digital construction.
The event, organised in conjunction with Buildoffsite and held at the London Design and Specification Centre (LDSC), featured talks on digital design tools and a case study on best practice in working with digital assets.
It was also an opportunity for LDSC General Manager and Senior Designer Bart Sobieszczanski (pictured above) and Business Development Director Neil Bills to give a presentation about Ideal Standard’s credentials in design.

Buildoffsite is a membership organisation which promotes offsite and modern methods of construction (MMC). We joined a year ago as we began exploring opportunities in the sector.
Neil said: “Being a member of Buildoffsite for 12 months has enabled us to build further insight and our network within the MMC arena.
“This event was testament to this, with the quality and breadth of professionals attending the event.
“It has certainly helped build the profile of the brand in the sector and the LDSC, as evidenced by the engagement we’ve seen on LinkedIn since the event.
“Thanks as ever for the support from the wider team of Bart, Yiota, Jack Selby and Steve Young.”

Bart said: “I have to say this was one of the most successful events we have had to date, If you consider the quality of visitors and attendance.
“Within a week about 30 people joined the conversation here looking at offsite construction aspects.
“There was great follow up on LinkedIn with multiple organic posts, and a good networking and social gathering at our bar later.
“There’s definitely potential with offsite to hold more of those in the future and show off some leadership through case studies, especially having some real prototypes of prefabricated bathrooms we’re working on with Modulus.”

One strong lead is already coming out of Jack Selby’s conversation on the night with a representative of Modomo, a company which provides ready-built modular homes and hotels for “meanwhile use” land.
One such project is a 170-room hotel in East London on a site they have for a 15-year period. Jack is meeting his contact and the company’s interior designer back at the LDSC to discuss the project in the coming weeks.

Below is one example of LinkedIn engagement after the event, with Alex Lubbock, the Managing Director of BIMobject UK, supporting.
