A new interactive employee handbook is bringing together frequently asked questions and useful information in one handy document.
The handbook features information about the company and its history, employee benefits and policies, such as equal opportunities, flexible working and bereavement leave.
It also gives information on booking leave, recruitment, health and safety, employee benefits, useful forms, the intranet, frequently asked questions and a glossary of common terms and abbreviations.
Helen Stretton, HR Operations Manager, said: “In HR we receive a lot of questions on the phone, through emails or people dropping in, and there are a lot of repeat themes, as you’d expect.
“A lot of the questions we get are policy related, things like what happens if you go on jury service, bereavement leave and accessing your pension portal.
“The idea of the handbook is to ensure that a lot of these questions and other information are gathered in one place so people can find the answers they are looking for themselves.
“Of course, if anyone is struggling to find an answer to their particular question in the handbook, they are more than welcome to get in touch.”
The handbook will be launched in January 2019 and more information will be released about this closer to the time.
It will be an evolving document, with more material added over time, including online induction videos, organisational charts and senior colleagues welcoming people to the business.
It could also play a role in inducting new members of staff by introducing functions, key departments, people and activities such as completing expense claims, via video links.
