Describe your job to a five-year-old
In simple terms I sell toilets!! No, but I am in charge of looking after all parts of one of our biggest customers in Ireland. I also help people choose what type of bathrooms they can use that suit them the best. ๐Ÿ™‚

What do you like most about your job?
Apart from the people I work with, I enjoy the buzz of doing the hard work in advance and receiving the orders at the end of the process. Also being associated with the Armitage Shanks and Ideal Standard brands is huge.

How did you get here?
My career in the sanitary ware industry goes back 20 years (hard to believe I know). Started as a work placement graduate in QualceramShires in 1999, worked my way up through the Credit Control and Purchasing departments before getting an opportunity to move to the Ideal Standard sales office in Dublin in 2010. This was following the take over of Shires Bathrooms in 2009. In 2015 I moved into external sales where I focused on specification and working closely with building contractors. In 2018 I was appointed Key Account Manager whilst still keeping a key role in commercial specification.

What motivates you?
The people around me are a great bunch and we all keep each other on our toes. The buzz of ‘winning the job’ is a huge enjoyment for me.

If you could swap jobs with anyone, who would it be?
I always thought being a professional golfer would be a good job !!! Seriously, i do get a lot of enjoyment doing what i do…..

Your favourite song lyric or line from a film
Song Lyric: Oh god so many !!! But i do like this one by U2 – Running to Stand Still from the Joshua Tree "Sweet the sin bitter the taste in my mouth, I see seven towers but i only see one way out. You got to cry without weeping talk without speaking, scream without raising your voice, you know i took the poison, from the poison stream, then i floated out of here"
