A fascinating programme of events has been put together to attract architects to our new London centre during Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW).
The 10-week build programme for our London Design and Specification Centre will be complete just in time for the festival (see Bart’s blog, which is one of the most important dates in the design calendar.
Celebrating its 10th year in 2019, CDW will run from 21 to 23 May and offer opportunities for us to preview the design hub and its various services to architects, interior designers and other key customer groups.
In 2018, some 34,060 attendees and over 300 exhibiting brands took part in what is the UK’s largest independent design festival.
UK Marketing Director Katie Cope said: “Clerkenwell Design Week is a huge opportunity for us to showcase our flagship London hub to the design community.
“The showroom design has been created from a designer’s perspective.
"We know that they not only need practical information about products but also somewhere to meet, network and research their projects.
“With this is mind, we have developed a programme of events which bring together bathrooms and design, and we are looking forward to welcoming our first customers during this important week.
"This will be a sneak preview of the new centre, ahead of the official opening event in June."
The events programme at our centre, which will be open into the evening from 21 to 23 May, will be as follows:
• 21 to 23 May – The Fun Trail of Discovery: A journey through the rich design and engineering story of the Ipalyss basin
• 22 May – Monster Fatbergs and the Super Sewer: A thought-provoking discussion delving into London’s super sewer to find out what lies beneath, chaired by leading writer and educationalist Sir Christopher Frayling and with Clare Donnelly, lead architect on the super sewer project, and Vyki Sparkes, curator of ‘Fatberg! The Monster of Whitechapel’
• 23 May – The (Un) Gendered Loo: Design historian Libby Sellers discusses gender politics in washrooms and how design can play a part in providing a solution
The event is open to anyone who wants to drop into the showroom during CDW, invite customers, spread the word and get them involved in the buzz of Clerkenwell.
