Ideal Standard is looking to expand its business in Japan after appointing its first distributor for the country.
Taiyo Kanamono Co are focused on selling European brands into the Japanese market, and hold a market leading position with many European manufacturers.
The focus for our product is currently on fittings and basins because the country is reliant on intelligent and smart toilets.
Product ranges now being stocked by the distributor are Joy, Joy Neo, Connect Air, Navigo, Solos, Ceratherm T125, Conca, Extra, Linda X and Ipalyss from the Atelier Collections. They are also stocking Ceraline, Cerafine O, Ceratherm T25, T50 and T100 and i.life B for their projects business.
Export Director Dave Larreta said: “Taiyo Kanamono operate in both a traditional distributor model and in the projects area, having a national distributor sales team and then a project focused sales team and showroom in Tokyo.
“We have already quoted some very nice projects with them, including a new Waldorf Astoria hotel, for 500 Ipalyss basins, which we are hoping to win in 2025.”
The agreement is the latest in a number of developments in the Far East, including showroom and distributor developments in China, Malaysia and Taiwan.
