A strong merchant relationship, combined with excellent teamwork across the business, has helped secure both Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard specifications at a major student accommodation development in the City of London.
The 65 Fleet Street scheme, being delivered by developer Dominus with pod manufacturer HG Construction, features Villeroy & Boch products as the core specification, with Ideal Standard in the accessible areas. The project is worth £143,000 in total to the business.
The project was won through the team’s close relationship with merchant partner Zest, which opened the door to secure specifications in areas where competing products might traditionally have been considered.
The development builds on momentum from other recent student accommodation successes in Greater London, including schemes at Watford Way and Rockingham Street.
Regional Sales Manager Sal Moss said: “The strength of our relationship with Zest was key to getting us in front of the customer and securing the initial specification.
“From there, we were able to demonstrate the value of the wider Villeroy & Boch portfolio and successfully introduce Ideal Standard products into the mix.
“It’s exactly the type of opportunity we’re looking to create as we continue to grow our premium brand presence in the UK market.”
Products specified on the project include Villeroy & Boch O.novo basins and toilets alongside Ideal Standard i.life toilets, Edit basins and Conceala 3 concealed cisterns.
“This was very much a team achievement,” said Sal. “The responsiveness of the estimating team in turning around pricing quickly was crucial, while Sam Cassidy and his team provided excellent support throughout.
“I’d also like to recognise Paul Smith and the Supply Planning team, who worked incredibly hard to meet demanding call-off schedules and provide regular availability and shipping updates.
“Their support played a major role in making the project a success.”
