Finance Business Partner Melissa Boyce has picked up her Hull and Humber Top 30 Under 30 award at a celebration evening in front of hundreds of prominent local business people.
The accolade, which highlights her contributions to Ideal Standard, gives Melissa access to the year-long LEAP development programme aimed at further unlocking her leadership potential.
Melissa said: “I started the LEAP programme whilst on maternity leave. I think it has benefitted me in getting back into work because I was excited to put what I learnt into practice.”
Melissa particularly valued one of the programme’s sessions led by Tom Wright, a former theatre director.
“I found the session delivered by Tom Wright interesting and useful,” she said. “It is so out of my comfort zone in those sessions, but it has helped me with communicating and presenting, understanding you can use emotions to get your point across.
“The awards night itself was excellent,” she added. “It wasn’t as formal as a normal awards night. It was graduation style rather than each winner giving a speech.”
Melissa’s selection places her among a talented group of young professionals from notable local organisations, including the University of Hull, Humberside Police and Wren Kitchens.
She also joins previous Ideal Standard winners Mustafa Rahman and Shardee Manzouri.
