Name: Ollie Chater
Job title: Key Account Manager – eCommerce

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am 29 years old, a husband to Brodie and father to a beautiful little girl called Hallie. I am a keen sportsman who loves golf and football, however Hallie put an end to my football career! I am still golfing thankfully, and my handicap is 7. I have a passion for travelling and cooking which occupies my weekends along with following Liverpool FC. If there’s a chance to be in the sun with my family and a beer, I am a happy man!

Describe your job to a five-year-old
Selling toilets to people who have a website shop.

What do you like most about your job?
Meeting new people, building relationships and overcoming new challenges.

How did you get here?
I started life out of university as a graphic designer before becoming a brand manager in the hydroponics industry. From here I found my love for sales and numbers, which led to me going into the power tool industry as a national account manager where I have worked with the likes of Amazon, ScrewFix, B&Q, Selco, Homebase, B&M and Wolseley.

What motivates you?
My daughter. Sounds cliché, but seeing her happy makes me happy! Also, that first airport beer does sneak into my mind every now and then.

If you could swap jobs with anyone, who would it be?
Justin Rose – travelling the world and playing golf. Sounds ideal.

Your favourite song lyric or line from a film
“Go home ball!” – Happy Gilmour.

Your favourite app?
Probably Instagram.

Biggest facepalm moment at work?
Saying ‘safe’ when ending a call instead of ‘stay safe’.
