Product Managers Chris Barley and Ash Smith are appealing for sponsors ahead of a muddy charity challenge on May 23.
Chris and Ash, along with Chris’ wife Natasha, will be climbing, crawling and sliding through a mucky five miles in the grounds of Sledmere House in East Yorkshire as part of Get Caked!
The event has been organised by Dove House Hospice and is supported by Hull Children’s University (HCU), a charity which organises exciting and engaging learning experiences to raise the aspirations of disadvantaged young people in Hull.
Ash was appointed as a trustee of the charity in 2020 and it is run by Natasha, who is the Director.
Ash said: “Since I joined the board of trustees I’ve learnt a lot about how many children grow up in poverty in Hull and how this affects their learning and aspirations.
“HCU does so much good work to give these young people the opportunities that others have, to broaden their horizons and build their confidence.
“One in three children in Hull grow up in poverty and many of these children will not venture much further than a mile from their front door.
“We all believe in the work the charity does and want to support them as much as we can. Any donation, no matter how small, will help.”
