The second placement under the national Kickstart scheme is grabbing with both hands the opportunity to get her career moving.
Kaysea Miah, 18, from Hull, has joined the business working in the Customer Care Team, and is already earning positive feedback.
Having left home aged 16 and had a number of jobs since then, she was claiming Universal Credit when she was told about Kickstart.

Kaysea said: “I thought it was a great opportunity to get into the scheme and I’ve had a really good first two weeks here.
“Obviously it’s a bit daunting with everything you have to take in but everyone is lovely and there’s so much support.
“I never knew what I wanted to do as a career. With Kickstart I’m hoping it will start the ball rolling.”

In her first two weeks with the business Kaysea has taken part in an introductory session with the CLT, along with fellow Kickstart colleague Tom Whichelo, who is working as a finance assistant.
The pair introduced themselves, gave their first impressions of the business and explained what they were hoping to gain from Kickstart.
The CLT members also introduced themselves, spoke about their careers and offered career advice based on their own experiences.

Senior HR Business Partner Vikki Atkin said: “The CLT is really supportive of the Kickstart scheme and it was a good experience for Kaysea and Tom to talk to them and build their confidence.
“They are also doing some pro-active work to see how they can put a process in place to help support future Kickstart appointments, and they have asked to be involved in giving that support.
“We have had an excellent start to the Kickstart scheme and we are looking forward to welcoming more colleagues this way.”

Kickstart is the latest government initiative focused on getting young people into work and helping provide them with the skills needed to forge successful careers.
Ideal Standard is working with the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) and The Furniture and Interiors, Education, Skills and Training Alliance to play a leading role in the scheme for our industry and to partner with other organisations with similar aspirations.

If you are aware of anyone who is looking for work and would be eligible for the Kickstart Scheme, please advise them to talk to their work coach about the placements that Ideal Standard have on offer.
