Our renewed focus on industry associations is paying dividends and making sure our voice is heard when important decisions are made.
Some 18 months on from John Robinson’s appointment as Industry Ambassador for Ideal Standard, our work with these organisations is delivering results.
We are currently working with the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA), Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers (CIPHE), Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC), the Home Builders Federation (HBF), the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) and the British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation (BIKBBI).
This includes John’s position in the five-strong Industrial Associate Strategy Group of the CIPHE, whose role is to help define the association’s role and consider issues such as member training and continuing professional development, the benefits of membership and support for small businesses.

John said: “It feels like we’re really making a difference now as part of these associations and after 18 months of doing this we are really getting a return on investment.
“It gives us a position of influence and that’s of benefit to the business but it also means we can bring to the table our experience as a long-established market leader for the good of the industry as a whole.”

In addition to John’s position with the CIPHE, he is also Vice President of the BMA. In another piece of industry associations news, our London Design and Specification Centre has been named as a BMF Centre of Excellence.

Tim Sainty, Membership Director of the CIPHE, said: “Industry professional bodies, trade organisations and charities rely on the dedication and contribution made by the people working within the areas that they represent.
“The CIPHE greatly values the knowledge, insight and advice that John Robinson volunteers us. We would be poorer without it and are grateful to John and Ideal Standard for the support that he provides.”
