Martin O’Reilly’s professional footballer nephew has signed a two-year contract with Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR).
Conor Masterson, who is originally from Celbridge in County Kildare, had been with Liverpool FC since his 16th birthday.
Despite captaining their under 18s team and playing for the Republic of Ireland’s youth team, he was unable to force his way into the senior team and suffered a number of injuries.
Looking to ensure more game time, he signed for QPR earlier this month.

Martin, who is Country Manager for the Republic of Ireland, said: “We’re all very proud of Conor and what he’s achieved.
“He’s a good lad and he’s learned a lot while he’s been at Liverpool. I think going to QPR is a good move for him.”
