With only one week to go in the build programme, Bart Sobieszczanski updates on progress at the London Design and Specification Centre.
10 weeks – 1 to go…
We are definitely approaching the finish line on our 10 week build schedule. Panic mode is totally ON as Clerkenwell Design Week Sneak Preview is kind of tomorrow…
100 strong crew on site
Builders, Painters, Av Consultants, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Tilers, IT, Health & Safety, Designers, Project Managers, Cleaners, Delivery guys… all here at once, and all have a question, at least we know the showroom capacity 🙂
100% Sustainable – Zero Waste
We managed to tile 4000 sq.ft space and have ZERO tiles left, and single 30cm off cut! This is a guaranteed story for our construction crew, suspecting me of counting the tiles… not to mention complete disbelief 🙂
400 SKUs
With over 400 SKUs of our products already on site, we have invited our Ideal Standard technicians to help find us find a way, and probably made enemies at Supply Chain ordering something every day (Thank you for your patience Babs 🙂 )
300cm Tile!
Spotted our neighbouring tile showroom delivering a giant three metre long wall tile! And we decided to bring one for our design led display too!
One Hell of a Gorgeous Blue
So we have been getting PhD in Off White Colour selection for a while, but The Ideal Blue (Blue Iris) turns out the most amazing choice. This is how we have painted our kitchen and Bar and now just can’t stop admiring it!
V.I.P Visit at 76 Clerkenwell Road
Graham Oldroyd, Chairman of the board of Ideal Standard International, and Stephen Ewer, our MD, had visited the site last week. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photo on site for my blog. Fortunately both gentlemen seemed pleased with work so far and excited about what it will do for Ideal Standard.

Graham said: "It was very good to see the showroom taking shape. I’m sure it will be an excellent display space and, as I saw when I visited, it’s very well positioned too against our competition."
