Getting the basics right has turned into a project win worth more than £450,000 which is all due in 2025.
Merrick Place is a development of four blocks of affordable housing in Southall, South London, led by Sovereign Network Group.

The size of total opportunity is £472,000, all to be transacted this year, with the first order already placed.
This order – for 400 shower valves, 600 flush plates and 400 baths – has come through Wolseley in Barking and alone is worth £161,000.

Key Account Manager Pat Quinn said: “What’s unusual about this development is that all four blocks are being built concurrently, instead of over 18 months or so like they normally do.
“That means all of the value of this project will transact this year, which is amazing.”

He added: “This is a case study of what can be achieved by simply doing the basics right – staying close to the sub-contractor RG Taylor, keeping in touch, showing up and doing what you say you’re going to do.
“The end client was the one making the decisions on the spec. Initially it was a mixed spec with Roca but I have a well-established relationship with the sub-contractor, they invited us to put in an alternative spec and we ended up taking the full thing.”

Pat also thanked his colleagues Mat Edwards and Steven Wilkinson for helping to get the win over the line.
He said: “This wouldn’t have been possible without Mat, who very patiently arranged deliveries and samples when several changes were being made to the spec, and Steve, who helped to make sure we didn’t have any framework clashes on this project.”

The specification includes Alto EV shower packs, Contour 21+ bath fillers, Ceraplan basin mixers, Connect Air toilets, Tempo Cube baths, ProSys cisterns and Oleas flushplates.
