Applying the Singular approach has helped take share worth £315,000 with potential for more sites in the developer’s pipeline. The original specification was for Geberit, Vado and Merlyn.
Grasmere Gardens phase one by Kitewood Homes in Whitstable, Kent is made up of 140 houses, 98 of which are private sale, 13 shared ownership and 29 affordable rent.
Ideal Standard products make up virtually the full specification for the private sale and shared ownership tenures, which were the priorities in terms of growing sales and margin.

Products going in the private sale homes include Connect Air basins and pans, Ceraplan basin mixers, ProSys cisterns, Ceratherm T50 shower valves, Ceraflex bath/shower mixers and Connect 2 enclosures.
In the shared ownership homes will be i.life basins, pans and baths with Ceraline basin mixers, Simplicity trays and Connect 2 enclosures.
We are also written into the specification for phase two, which is for 160 houses with the same specification and a value of circa £180,000.

Specification Manager Ian Smith said: “After the initial proposal back in April we were only successful within the ceramics category, but after many calls and meetings, we were able to sell in the value to Kitewood of our Singular offering.
“As a result, we have won the vast majority of the products within every category, with taking the brassware from Vado being the highlight.
“We also sought help from outside of the residential and trade channel to bring this across the line, including great support from Brassware Product Manager Ash Smith and Product Sales Trainer Chris Pearson."

Ian added: “Steve Young of our Highrise team had previously held a meeting regarding another project with Kitewood, creating a really good impression of our manufacturing credentials and gave us a solid briefing of their business, so this was an all-round team effort with different departments and channels working together to win share.”
