A new initiative has been launched to help Ideal Standard recruit and retain the brightest – and most suitable – talent for the company.
Named the Employer Value Proposition (EVP), it has been developed over a year of research and discussion with colleagues across the UK commercial business to give a greater understanding of why people come to Ideal Standard, why they stay and why they leave.
The EVP is essentially the way in which the company represents itself when it is recruiting people and focuses on core themes which colleagues have mentioned when talking about working for the company.
Recruitment Manager Viv Pearsons said: “We know that a lot of people love working here and stay for a long time but we are also keen on continuing to improve our retention rates.
“The work we have done on the EVP has helped us to find out what our colleagues think are the core strengths of the business and pull out some of the main themes that crop up when people talk about working here.
“We will now use this to help us promote careers at Ideal Standard but also to convey the reality of working here and what is expected from new colleagues.”
The outcomes of the research have been used to create the EVP, which is made up of five brand attributes, the brand proposition and an overarching theme, “the big idea”.
The brand attributes – the characteristics of people who work here – are innovative, dedicated, energetic, aspirational and loyal, the first letters of which spell “ideal”.
These attributes will be used on promotional materials, online and on social media with new colleague photography, as below.
