This week’s project update sees two good wins for the export team – a school in Gibraltar and a hospital in Trinidad.
The order for Notre Dame School in Gibraltar (above) was secured with the main contractor and the specification includes Silhouette wash troughs with Sensorflow 21 and Contour 21 soap dispensers, Concept Cube basins with Sensorflow 21 and Contour 21 Splash back to wall WCs with Conceala sensor cisterns.

Export Sales Manager John Merrick said: “This was a good project for us to win because the number of decent projects are few and far between as the market is small.
“There are some other schools being planned though, so we hope that if all goes well with this one then we will be well placed to win these too.”

Arima-hospital-600-x-400 The second export win is Arima Hospital in Trinidad (above), an established market for the company where Armitage Shanks is arguably the best-known sanitaryware brand.
This phase covers 428 Portman 21 basins, 204 of them with Markwik 21 thermostatic panel mixers and 224 with Piccolo 21 single lever mixers. There is a second part of the project to come which will include stainless steel items and thermostatic shower mixers.

Large healthcare win for Ireland team

bon-secours-600-x-400 Another healthcare project is part of the refurbishment and extension of Bon Secours Hospital in Cork City, where the main body of the order is for 108 Contour wall hung WC pans and 165 Contour wash basins.
Martin O’Reilly, Country Manager – Republic of Ireland, said: “We developed the spec with the architects but came under stiff competition from Sonas Bathrooms who tried to change it using Twyford products.
“Ultimately, the strong relationships we have built up with the contractors and the architect, and the expertise we showed when selling the product benefits to the health service maintenance people enabled us to win the order.”
The order for this project has been secured with the Grafton Group – Chadwicks Mallow branch in Cork.
The main contractor is John Sisk and Sons and the mechanical contractor is HA O Neill, who will be buying the ware.
