Our bespoke bib tap developed for the new Wembley Stadium is now being used in the refurbishment of the venue, some 16 years after the original development.
An initial order of 661 taps with a value of £77k could rise to 2,000 worth over £235k if they are used throughout the replacement project.
It follows an approach in January in which a consultancy, Everything Water, made an enquiry about the Avon 21 chrome wall-mounted bib tap on behalf of a client whose identity wasn’t divulged at the time.

Everything Water are a consultancy firm helping organisations improve hygiene while cutting energy, carbon and water usage to reduce the negative impact on the environment.
Ideal Standard were in competition with a handful of alternative suppliers but we became aware that the client seemed keen to use our bib tap, dependent on price.

Specification Manager Harvey Chapman said: “We provided a price via one of the merchants which was accepted by Everything Water and an order for 661 was placed with a value of £77,641.
“It was only once the order had been placed that the client details became available and we were advised the taps were for Wembley Stadium.”

He added: “After a conversation with Tim Chappell it became clear why the client, which had been withheld up to that point, was keen to use our bib tap and that’s because this particular bib tap was specifically designed and manufactured by us for the Wembley Stadium rebuild back in 2007, which Tim was heavily involved with at the time.
“This is testament to the longevity and build quality of the Avon bib tap that the client has only just decided to start replacing them after all these years.”
