After 8 years, Jan Peter Tewes says a special thanks to his colleagues in the UK and Ireland
Jan Peter Tewes has said a fond farewell and thank you to UK colleagues as he prepares to leave the business.
Jan Peter, who joined Ideal Standard in 2018 as VP Commercial and served as CEO before the integration with Villeroy & Boch, is departing at the end of this month.
He said: “There has been a lot of change and plenty of challenges. The UK business did very well to adapt to all those changes, keeping close together, always focussing on the local market and its customers.
“In the business we are working in, our brand to a large degree is our people – the dedication you devote to our customers comes from our employees. They are first and foremost brand ambassadors.
“Thats where the UK has had exemplary people over the years, which I always appreciated and which the business could rely on.”
Jan Peter said he has always felt “super-welcome” when visiting the country and has tried to give that back to the colleagues he has met.
He also praised the diversity in age and gender in our workforce, which is a great benefit to the business and which is quite unique within Ideal Standard and Villeroy & Boch.
Jan Peter said: “I have enjoyed coming for meetings and the dinner afterwards. That’s where you get to know each other, where you talk about what the kids are doing, football, etc. That’s where I build trust, not just through KPIs and spreadsheets.
“I will miss the people but for me it’s time to move on. My sincere thanks to all of you and I wish you all the best for the future.”
