Colleagues across Hull and Armitage came together to support Mental Health Awareness Week through a series of fundraisers.
Together, they generated more than £400 for good causes through participating in Bake The World A Better Place, with a series of bake sales, fundraising activities and a company-wide “Wear It Green” day.
The week began with the CLT Bake Off, where the competition was as strong as the sugar rush.
Mark Barrett took the top spot with his lemon drizzle cake, while fellow entries included an elaborate Maltesers creation from Adrian Storr, an indulgent chocolate cake from Leanne Martin, a Biscoff cake from Carley Redmore and Vikki Atkin, chocolate cupcakes from Rachel Whittaker and a memorable toilet roll-themed cake and “poop cupcakes” from Lisa Whitfield.
Members of the CLT also talked to colleagues who were present about how and why they prioritise their mental health.
Then, the teams in the Armitage distribution centre and plant held bake sales and the wider commercial team participated in baking fun in the on-site breakout area. In the Hull office there was a bake sale packed with homemade cakes and sweet treats, with the team from the Wolseley branch across the road popping in to sample the treats on offer and make a generous donation.
Finally, teams across the business wore green in support of mental health awareness, with colleagues in Hull and Armitage coming together to show support for the campaign and help continue the conversation around mental wellbeing.
HR Services Manager Carley Redmore said: “Thank you to all the bakers, organisers and contributors who made this such a brilliant week. It was great to see everyone coming together to raise awareness of mental health and such a fantastic total for good causes.”
Funds raised throughout the week will be donated to Architects Benevolent Society, Andy’s Man Club and Mind.
