Order Fulfilment Team Leader Mat Edwards recently took part in the annual Dragon Boat Race at Himley Hall in support of two worthy causes.
Mat raced as part of the Mid-counties Co-op team in the event, which is organised by the Rotary Club of Wolverhampton and attracts teams from businesses across the region.
This year, Mat’s team raised money for Alz Café Wolverhampton, which supports people living with dementia and their families, and Breast Cancer UK.
The team enjoyed a successful day on the water, finishing third overall and taking home bronze medals.
Mat said: “It was a fantastic day and a great opportunity to support two brilliant charities. “There was a really positive atmosphere throughout the event, with lots of local businesses coming together to raise money for important causes.
“Thank you to everyone from the business who supported the event with their donations.”
The Dragon Boat Race has become a popular fixture in the local fundraising calendar, raising more than £25,000 for charitable causes over the past 11 years.
